It is because of a desire to see better lives for people like his uncle that Robert became a Special Education teacher. Robert became a certified teacher in Illinois and then California after\u00a0graduating from Southern Illinois University in 1991.<!--more--> He has a Master&#8217;s degree in special education from California State University &#8211; Dominguez Hills and finished the required studies to get his Board Certification as a Behavior Analyst by the University of North Texas in 2002. During this time he worked for 7 years in the public school system as a special education teacher in California. This included time as one of California&#8217;s first &#8220;Inclusion Specialists&#8221; for the Manhattan Beach school district. In addition to his University education, Robert has also had the pleasure of participating in workshops with Verbal Behavior\/ABA Specialist, Dr. James Partington in California and workshops from the previous Carbone clinic in New York. Additionally Robert has engaged in many other ABA and Verbal Behavior workshops and trainings around the world including Dr. Mark Sundberg&#8217;s workshop on his assessement, &#8220;The VB-MAPP.&#8221; Robert has also received training in TEACCH, PECS, Sign Language, Floortime, and Crisis Prevention and Intervention. Robert&#8217;s book &#8220;Motivation and Reinforcement&#8221; was published in 2006 (2nd edition in 2011) and Robert has become a highly sought after international Speaker giving workshops and presentations on ABA\/VB around the world. Additionally, for the winter semester of 2009 Robert has been given a professorship at Oldenburg University. He also has co-authored a chapter on Verbal Behavior in Sven B\u00f6lte&#8217;s University textbook called &#8220;Autismus&#8221;. In 2014\/2015 Robert was named a faculty advisor for the Bancroft special education school in Chicago, consulting directly with the school&#8217;s director of education. He also finished his second book in 2015 called \u201cThe 7 Steps to Earning Instructional Control&#8221; and was the inited Keynote Speaker at the Michigan Autism Conference in Kalamazoo Michigan. From 2017 to 2021 Robert supported a company in Canada, based on the Knospe-ABA model.
