Jennifer worked as a caregiver with three children with autism spectrum disorder during her studies to become an educational scientist at the WWU Münster. During this time, she also gained initial experience with Knospe-ABA as a 1:1 tutor and supported two children over several years in implementing the home-based learning program. Jennifer also focused intensively on the topic of autism in her bachelor’s thesis entitled “Appropriate measures of inclusion for students with an autism spectrum disorder in German regular schools.” After completing her studies in 2017, Jennifer worked primarily in the field of inpatient educational support measures for adolescents with an autism spectrum disorder (ASD) or ADHD. For 2 years she was a team leader in a residential group for youth with ASD or ADHD. During this work Jennifer implemented TEACCH and PECS. The goal was always to support and challenge the teenagers according to their possibilities. In addition, she was active in the field of outreach autism therapy during an employment within the outpatient educational assistance. Here she gained experience in the field of therapy for children and adolescents with ASD and counseling their parents. Jennifer supports families with their children with autism spectrum disorders and other developmental delays in NRW.
